Welcome back to school !

This is not going to be an ordinary year, that’s for sure, but we will all work hard to make our students learn a lot. To accomplish that difficult task, we are so lucky to count on our assistants : Liam and Meghan. Let’s know something about them…

Hello, I am Liam and I am one of the two new language assistants for the 2020-2021 school year.

I am from Seattle, Washington, in the United States. Seattle is in the northwest corner of the US, on the Pacific coast and just below the border with Canada. Seattle is famous for being a very rainy place. Some things you might know that are also from Seattle are grunge music (particularly Nirvana) or Microsoft or Amazon. There are also a few famous movies and TV shows that take place in Seattle, Grey´s Anatomy, iCarly, Frasier, the Twilight series, and Sleepless in Seattle.

There are four people in my family, my parents, my older sister, and me. My dad is named Sean, and he works in finance. My mom, Barbie, is a teacher but she took a long break to raise me and my sister. My sister also teaches English as a second language, but she lives in China. The last member of the family is our dog, a yellow lab named Jasper.

My favorite thing to do is to get outside in nature, and my favorite way to do that is on whitewater rivers. When I am going with my friends, I prefer to whitewater kayak. However I do like to raft as well, and I have worked as a raft guide during the summer. The coolest whitewater trip that I´ve ever done was a trip down the Colorado river through the Grand Canyon. The trip took 16 days, and we kayaked during the day, and camped at night.

My favorite sport to play is ultimate frisbee. I have played frisbee since I was 11 years old. I started playing frisbee at my middle school, and played for my college team as well. I have been living in Spain for the last two years, and I have been playing with different teams while here.

Hello, my name is Meghan! I am from Minnesota in the United States, which is one of the coldest and snowiest states. I went to University in Wyoming (where there are real cowboys!) and studied Communications and Environment and Natural Resources. I continued my education in mountainous Montana, and received a Master’s of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana.

I love to be in nature – you can often find me hiking and climbing, playing beach volleyball, and going river rafting.

I also love to watercolor paint, play pingpong, and travel. My favorite countries I’ve visited so far are Morocco, Ukraine, and, of course, Spain. 😀

I like to be silly while teaching my students so we have a lot of fun while learning!
